Similarly to Botswana and South Africa, Zimbabwe has always been a classical destination for a safari holiday. With Mana Pools National Park and Hwange National Park offering beautiful African wilderness, combined with the magnificent Victoria Falls there is much to see and do. As most of the country situated on a high plateau Zimbabwe has a lovely climate, similar to South Africa’s highvelt Waterberg area.

Horse riding safaris are available in northern Zimbabwe exploring the African bush watching out for game such as zebra, kudu, elephant and buffalo. All levels of rider are catered for with lodge based safaris suitable for novice riders and longer mobile safaris for those more experienced in the saddle. You will be led by an experienced safari guide and ride responsive well behaved horses, surefooted and sensible in the African terrain.

We are always looking for new riding destinations and regularly update the information on this site. If you have information about horse riding or trail rides in Zimbabwe please do contact us.

After a horse riding safari in Zimbabwe it is worth spending a few days visiting Victoria Falls. Also known as Mosi-oa-Tunya, meaning the Smoke that Thunders, the Falls are thought to be the biggest in the world and attract many visitors each year. There are lots of places to stay in Victoria Falls town or Livingstone on the Zambia side of the Falls. Maybe take a helicopter trip over the Falls, try bungee jumping from the bridge, or white water rafting on the Zambezi river.
